Exams


On this page you will find information about the unit exams, makeup exam, and final exam. This includes the dates of the exams, any review material (if appicable), and solutions once the exam date has passed.


Make-up and Final Exams:
The make-up and final exams will consist of questions that are similar in philosophy to the questions on the unit exams. There will be 4 questions on the make-up exam, and 8 questions on the final exam. Both exams will be open book, open notes.

The key topics that you will need to know are:

•   Subspaces of vector spaces (Including the Fundamental Subspaces Theorem)

•   Basis and coordinates

•   Change-of-bases

•   Linear Transformations

•   General Inner Product Spaces

•   Least Squares Approximations

•   Gram-Schmidt Orthogonalization

•   Eigenvalues and Eigenspaces

•   Systems of differential equations




Unit III Exam:
Covers sections 6.1-6.3 of the book, and Good Problem sets 13-14.
